Yearly in Serbia about 300 children get cancer. There are five centers for treatment of chldren with malignant diseases but most of the small patients are treated in Belgrade, where there are referent institutes.

In the begining of 1990, the first parents\’ organizations were established and in next 15 years their only activities were fundraising for medicaments, medical aparathures, clothes, food. Almost each of the above listed institutions has its own parent organization and most of them were founded more than 15 years ago.

    On December 2003, there was established the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF CHILDHOOD CANCER PARENT ORGANIZATIONS OF SERBIA "NURDOR" www.nurdor.org.yu with following aims:
  1. gathering existing parents\’ organizations,
  2. establishing new local parent\’s groups
  3. sharing experiances and learning from each other,
  4. education for parents,
  5. organizing volunteer\’s activities,
  6. establishing psychology support programme,
  7. survivers activites,
  8. publick awarness.

"NURDOR" with all its members, local parent\’s groups is a national representative in the International Confederation of Childhood Cancer Parent Organizations ICCCPO www.icccpo.org
